2007 Festival

Taking place for the 5th time in eight years, the 2007 Other Words – San Francisco International Poetry Festival – run from Oct. 11 to Oct. 14 and brought together 18 poets & performing artists from a diversity of 10 nations: Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S.A. The poets read their poetry in its original language (as is the practice at international poetry festivals worldwide), with English-language translations, the work of acclaimed translators, read by the poet or translator.

The following poets & performers participated to the Festival in 2007: Demosthenes Agrafiotis (Greece), Bas Boettcher (Germany), Emidio Clementi accompanied by Vittoria Burattini & Massimo Carozzi. (Italy), Kathleen Fraser (USA), Jürg Halter (as rapper: Kutti MC) (Switzerland), Katzen Kapell and Sarah Lindh performing poetry by Bodil Malmsten (Sweden), Steinar Opstad (Norway), Cathal Ó Searcaigh (Ireland), Ethan Paquin (USA) and Martin Reiner (Czech Republic).
